What I learned about Intercoms for the Home |

Yesterday, I asked for recommendations for a wireless intercom system for the home. Some recommended using a phone with intercom capability. I did some research today and this is what I found out.

First - Intercom systems: There are basically two types of wireless systems. The first is not really wireless as it uses the electrical wiring to connect the intercoms. This requires that the intercoms all be on the same circuit. Almost all of my circuits only have one or two rooms per circuit. That makes these systems pretty useless. Feedback on Amazon from unsupecting buyers is pretty rabid against these systems. The second uses radio frequencies making it a true wireless. Of those, the most promising are the Radio Shack 900 MHz system and the GE FRS radio/intercom. The GE gave me the idea of just buying several hand held FRS radios with AC adapters and placing them around the house. You could take them with you for trips as well as out into the yard.

Second - Phone systems: These are more expensive, but you also get a phone and as many extra hand sets as you are willing to put out the $$ for. There are many choices, so I don't have any specific recommendations. If anyone has any experiences they would like to share, that would be great. I did find a RCA model that claims to allow you to make calls over your cell phone. How that I works, I wasn't able to figure out. I would also be interested in hearing if anyone has one of these.

Dumb iTMS Q. |

So I just did the PayPal special where you buy $50 worth of iTMS and you get 25 free songs. So now I've got 25 songs credited to my account. So if I want to buy an album, and there are like 13 songs on it, but it costs 9.99...what happens? Do they take 13 songs off my credit, or do they charge me 9.99?

TIA,
I really STRONGLY urge you read this book. No kidding, and not meant to be hostile.

It is practically the blueprint for the media coverage of the Iraq war today.

http://cgi.ebay.com/SIGNAL-MAGAZINE-n-2-...8290651

"Signal" was sort of the "Life" magazine of Germany during WWII.

It is superb, expertly done disinformation and propaganda.

You will see in it many techniques which are not being done as well today, such as doctored photos, disinformation, peculiar spins on information, even the tone of voice.

It is EXCELLENT and expert, far better than anything in the USA, with really talented photography.

If you read this book carefully (English translations of German Signal Layouts), and don't come to the stark realization of what is being done to you, on a grand scale, today, then I will never argue with one of your opinions again.

Seriously.

Reading this book and being made aware of how skillfully propaganda was being used on me was one of the life-changing experiences of my life. Really.

I now have a collection of 100's of original Signal Magazines, wish they were in English.

This was the work of real experts and sinister guys.

So, what is the answer for people who have recorded hours of home video onto DVD using their Sony camcorders, and ask how they can import this video onto their mac to do some editing? (Final Cut is an option)

I know I have seen discussion on this before, but I never really found out the answer for myself since I don't have one of these cameras. But now my friend wants to know, so I turn to my friends on the forum...
