What a terrible thing that this person did .. hats off to law enforcement and the DA for convicting the guy or putting enough evidence in place that he crumbled.
My wife waited on Jeff Dahlmer many times in college and said that she and everyone in the diner she worked at said there was something 'hair on the back of your neck' weird and off about him. No doubt people who came across this monster Kohberger felt the same.

United Airlines - Changing non-refundable ticket to refundable and then cancelling? |

Because of some family health issues, we're cancelling a family trip. United Airline tickets are "Economy", which specify "Free change, possible fare difference", as opposed to cheaper "Basic Economy" with "no ticket changes" "no upgrades" and the more expensive "Economy Fully Refundable" class.
We will probably take the trip next summer, but it's really too far ahead for us to rebook as things can get added to our calendars which would impact when we take the trip. I could re-book tickets now for some arbitrary summer date and we just hope that it lines up (using the same "Economy" fare level, to allow for possible change if needed). Had a thought, though, that I could cancel our current tickets, rebook using the credit at the higher "Economy Fully Refundable" level, and then just cancel altogether so they money is sitting in my bank account rather than United's.
Is this a legitimate loophole or am I missing some catch that will make this impossible?

Hello friends,
This is just to let you know that my husband, Lost in Space, or Pat, passed away after a very long bout of ill health. He died very peacefully at home in the gentlest way you can imagine. This was really a blessing as his illness (pulmonary fibrosis) can lead to a dreadful ending.
He affectionately referred to this as the Mac Geek Forum. Actually, our family depended on advice from you all for all sorts of things over the years. He did successfully get all the stuff from his old mac book pro to this newer mac book air. He couldn't get his music to transfer, or perhaps just play, I'm not sure. He finally told me it wasn't possible on this laptop.
Anyway, I just wanted to let you all know and thank you all for helping us out all these years. If I run into some kind of conundrum, I may post to you all. That's one of the things I forgot to ask him about...

Interesting read on why "The Original iPhone SE is the Best iPhone Apple Ever Made" |

Here
I have used the original iPhone SE from January 2017 until the end of 2024. After using more modern iPhones, I still believe the 2016 SE is the greatest iPhone Apple ever made, and likely one of the greatest phones of all time. It has made me reconsider what we really need from a phone, the inefficiencies of "progress" in software, and the obscene amounts of e-waste we generate in order to obtain incremental hardware updates.
