"Margaret Thatcher, the first woman to ever serve as prime minister of the United Kingdom, has died at the age of 87. A spokesperson announced that she had a stroke, though she had been in poor health in recent years and was reportedly suffering from Alzheimer's disease."

I hadn't heard about her Alzheimer's Disease.

There is an expression that you shouldn't speak ill of the dead but a huge number of people in the UK will never forgive her for destroying so many lives during her premiership. It used to be said back in the 60s that any first year student at the LSE could formulate a plan to improve the country's economic problems however no-one would dare follow them as the cost to so many millions of working people would be too great, Thatcher tried it but amazingly didn't after all her time at the top improve things.

Ludicrous. The dismal state of the UK economy in 1979 is not remotely comparable to that in 1990 when she left office.

Like her American counterpoint Reagan, I believe Thatcher did what was needed to turn things around in their respective nations. I may not agree with all of their decisions but at least they did something to instill pride again.

I'm sure many Argentinians will celebrate her passing. She was quite reviled due to her leadership during the Falklands War.

I guess this was bound to get political so it may get moved soon.
But all I'll say is that an entity can't keep spending far more money that it takes in; it is unsustainable and somewhere something has to give.

RIP Margaret Thatcher . . .

Re: Iron Lady has died - (vikm) - 04-08-2013

I know no one that lived under her tenure that feel she was anything but a vile woman and did more harm than good for the working class of Great Britain.

"Because people like you make me feel so old inside... When will you die?!?"

Decay, I've seen numerous "...the witch is dead" quotes already today, but not paired with the Nomi tune. Nice find!
