Anyone on here interested in old vinyl? - mikebw - 02-26-2020 My uncle is looking to part with his records, not sure how many or what genre(s) but he asked me if I was interested... I think it would be cool, sure, but honestly I don't even have a turntable and can't really see myself using one on a regular basis even if I did. I seem to recall someone on here who collected... Note that there is also a burgeoning collector community, but I'm not wired into that. I have perhaps 150 albums that I've accumulated and played to death over the last 50 years. It may pay to use them, especially if you have a lot to send to one location. Re: Anyone on here interested in old vinyl? - pdq - 02-26-2020 As a long-time eBay-er, I keep expecting that my nice LP copy of “Thriller” will be worth something someday. The problem is, of course, that there are 25 million Thriller LPs out there. On the other hand, we came across a bunch of old 45’s in an estate, and I went through and checked what each was going for. Most were a couple bucks at most, but one that I’d never heard of was fetching, like, $75. And that’s (roughly, it was awhile ago) what we got for it too- and it sold quickly. Things that are popular but common aren’t worth much. Things that are uncommon but not popular also aren’t worth much. But things that are popular (sometimes only in certain niches) and uncommon can sometimes be worth quite a bit. Go figure. Re: Anyone on here interested in old vinyl? - Filliam H.
