I've tried really really hard - kanesa - 09-25-2008 to understand why people like Palin. Here is her second interview with Couric. http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/09/25/eveningnews/main4479062.shtml Her last statement made me groan. She was talking about Israel and not second guessing them. Heartbeat away..... Palin: We don't have to second-guess what their efforts would be if they believe … that it is in their country and their allies, including us, all of our best interests to fight against a regime, especially Iran, who would seek to wipe them off the face of the earth. It is obvious to me who the good guys are in this one and who the bad guys are. The bad guys are the ones who say Israel is a stinking corpse and should be wiped off the face of the earth. That's not a good guy who is saying that. Now, one who would seek to protect the good guys in this, the leaders of Israel and her friends, her allies, including the United States, in my world, those are the good guys. Re: I've tried really really hard - incognegro - 09-25-2008 I know. ![]() Re: I've tried really really hard - Greg the dogsitter - 09-25-2008 Dang...just saw a request for that 'shop elsewhere... Re: I've tried really really hard - $tevie - 09-26-2008 She makes me cringe with embarrassment for her. The way that I have understood the world is through education, through books, through mediums that have provided me a lot of perspective on the world. So by "mediums" I guess she is referring to Patricia Arquette and Edgar Cayce? Good heavens. Couric: Well, explain to me why that enhances your foreign-policy credentials. Re: I've tried really really hard - Seacrest - 09-26-2008 I'd buy that for a dollar! (or a schekel, whatevs) Re: I've tried really really hard - rgG - 09-26-2008 She is a bad choice, but the people who like her, don't care. It is as simple as that. They don't care that she isn't erudite or eloquent, because most of them aren't either. My guess is that the educated ones, like Carley Fiorina and others, understand why she was chosen and have decided to support the ticket anyway. If McCain wins the election and manages to survive his term, they know it will be a moot point. Unless the President dies, the VP only goes to state dinners and funerals. All the bad-mouthing by the opposition is only going to make her supporters dig their heels in and defend her more. Re: I've tried really really hard - kap - 09-26-2008 Einstein for Vice President! Woof! Re: I've tried really really hard - AlphaDog - 09-26-2008 I liked this part: Palin: I can give you examples of things that John McCain has done, that has shown his foresight, his pragmatism, and his leadership abilities. And that is what America needs today. Couric: I'm just going to ask you one more time - not to belabor the point. Specific examples in his 26 years of pushing for more regulation. Palin: I'll try to find you some and I'll bring them to you. --------------------- I was doing something else when this interview was on, but I thought I heard just after it was over that polls are showing her popularity slipping. Did anybody else hear that?
