Very happy.
As a last attempt before I took it in, I folded up a black piece of construction paper several times, and got the glass focused. After maybe a minute or two, it burst into flame.

I have a 28cm^2 Fresnel Lense that I purchased from Edmond Scientific for about $3. It is extremely dangerous. I almost melted a penny with it. I cracked concrete, melted asphalt. You have to be really careful when handling it outdoors because you can accidentally create a severe burn in senconds. I wanted to pair it with a Stirling engine to make a generator, but then I read about a guy that has already secured VC to build a generating station in CA to do the same thing.

Find a broken overhead projector at your school, open it up and look just below the glass writing surface. One screw or even one snap will release a 12 x 12 fresnel lens. These work great for starting fires...as someone said above, extremely hazardous.
