Ahh, all it does it make you a bit thinner. I once lost almost 50 pounds on the Baluchistan Dysentery Diet.

That's funny!...
threw a bag of "Everybody's nuts!" pistachios out after the big scare hit...

they're from CA, so didn't want to take a chance.

and I'm all right. I have eaten from the same bag (bought at COSTCO several weeks ago) before they announced the contamination and I was OK. I called my doctor and he said if there was salmonella in the pistachios, I would get diarrhea, and since I didn't, the pistachios are safe to eat.

I inquired to Trader Joe's three days ago and got this reply...

XXXXX,

Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention. At this time,
Trader Joe's pistachios have not been affected by the recall. We are
keeping a close watch on any new developments and are gathering valuable
information from our suppliers to ensure the safety of our products sold
in our stores. Please know that if we had any reason for concern, we
would immediately pull the product off of our shelves and inform our
customers of our actions and the reasons for them. Nothing is more
important to us than the safety of our customers and crew, and the
quality of our products.

Sincerely,
XXXXX

I'm sorry but you have not had a REAL pistachio until you've had one from http://www.heartofthedesert.com/index.asp

The quality of their pistachios will make you think regular supermarket pistachios are garbage (which they probably are). Notice that Heart of the Desert pistachios are not affected by the recall.

Do yourself a favor and order some. Be daring. Go for the red chile ones! Actually, IMO, the green chile & garlic ones are the best.
