Laarree's found amusement of the day - laarree - 08-11-2009
I was returning to work after lunch from a Starbucks at West 43rd Street
and 9th Ave. in Manhattan when I spotted a flyer taped up in a public
phone booth. I glanced at it out of curiosity, and was so amused I had
to swipe it and bring it back to my office. It's the kind of personal ad
that exists largely on the web these days, and is anachronistic in that
its original is clearly handwritten and the contact info is only a cellphone
number, with no email address. But there is something so New-Yorky
about it, filled with requirements and expressing a dislike for deception,
but naively hopeful. Redacted to protect the innocent. :-)

And you know, being it's NYC, the funny thing is someone may just actually call him.
If it were the 70's, I'm sure he'd get more than one call (and guaranteed at least one from his rejection list).

My favorite detail is how he stresses the proper pronunciation of
his name, even adding dictionary-style pronunciation symbols for
the vowels.
