Now that was interesting... - graylocks - 10-21-2009

I just had a visit from 5 GBI police officers in bulletproof vests. After seeing the rather perplexed look on my face and my very excited little dog, they determined they must be at the wrong address! They were actually pretty amused by the error considering, I assume, they were answering some emergency that required a whole team and flak gear.

so, which one of you guys called in a prank?

if i had any, yesterday's iMac offerings would have had me sell them for a new computer!

they wanted...

your little dog, too !!!

No, seriously, I'm glad you're okay after that. Such 'high risk warrant' deliveries to the wrong address often become a 'homeowner shot and killed' stories. Moral of story. Always. Move. Slowly. Around. The. Nice. Police. Officers. and. Speak. Softly.

I'd be happy they didn't kick down your door and throw you to the floor.

A couple of years ago in Minneapolis, a SWAT team burst into someone's home in the middle of the night and exchanged gunfire with the non-English-speaking homeowner before they realized they had the wrong address. It seems that both parties thought the other was the bad guy! Miraculously, no one was injured.

Lucky they didn't kick down your door. Good luck on getting that paid for!

That could have ended in a much worse way!

So what is GBI?

Edit: Ah, maybe a slip of the wrist? I'm now thinking FBI.

Sorry to hear about that, graylocks. I didn't want to hear Brenda Wood telling me about this GBI incident in Clayton county tonight on the news. Big Grin
