Brown Wins it! - samintx - 01-20-2010 Now we will see what changes will be made in D.C. Hipeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Re: Brown Wins it! - blooz - 01-20-2010 It's a gddm travesty. I don't know how the people of this state could be so stupid. We were so close tyo health care for all, or mosty all. The right really wants Obama to fail and they don't care how much damage is done to the country, just so they can say "See, a black guy shouldn't be president." That's what i think. It has to do with the Louisiana Purchase, The sweetheart deal with the Unions, the closed doors, lack of transparency. Not even attempting BHO's campaign promises... Get off the RACE kick and look at the facts. A horde of White Folks voted for BHO last year. Re: Brown Wins it! - Mike Sellers - 01-20-2010 blooz wrote: The health care isn't dead because of this. The House could approve the Senate version of the bill can be reconciled and passed before Brown takes office which probably won't be for another month. Re: Brown Wins it! - Silencio - 01-20-2010 One extremely crappy candidate barely beat another extremely crappy candidate. So what? This result is hardly the ringing repudiation of Obama that the righties are thinking it is. I think the more telling result is still the one where the teabagger who bullied out the moderate Republican candidate in upstate New York, but went on to lose to the Democrat the general election. Neither of the parties are doing well in the eyes of the American people right now. Re: Brown Wins it! - $tevie - 01-20-2010 I'm not happy -- but I can't imagine this is going to cause "changes [to] be made in D.C." One (junior) senator isn't going to be like a magic wand or anything. My hope is this will be a wake up call for the Democrats and they will stop playing footsie with the GOP and pass some legislation. Re: Brown Wins it! - stephen - 01-20-2010 Awful candidate, poor communication from natl Dems, weak waffling. You can't meet the GOP halfway with a handshake and expect to get your arm back. Re: Brown Wins it! - Carnos Jax - 01-20-2010 >the closed doors, lack of transparency. Sam, you honestly believe these issues weren't magnitude orders worse under Bush? And that Obama hadn't come a long way in eliminating it? Why don't you at least dwell upon these right wing talking points instead of accepting them as a matter of faith? If you did I can't honestly figure how you would come to the same conclusion. Re: Brown Wins it! - rgG - 01-20-2010 The stock market will be up tomorrow. The stock market loves gridlock and nothing getting done. I hope I stay healthy at least until I get old enough to qualify for Medicare. That looks like the only way I am going to get affordable health care in my lifetime. I think it is still possible that the health care bill will get passed, but it has been so watered down that I'm not sure that it really matters. I think that everyone in Congress should have to purchase their own health insurance with no group discount and with pre-existing conditions. That is apparently the only way they will really know what many people have to deal with. Re: Brown Wins it! - cbelt3 - 01-20-2010 It's merely a classic 'wake up' moment for the Democratic party. The point is this. It's the CANDIDATE, stupid. People have become too smart to vote for 'the party' any more. |
