Oh yeah? What is this then?

>>Her Republican opponent, Jesse Kelly, held this kind of strange political rally last June. No idea what motivated this shooter, but the rhetoric hasn't been pretty.<<

You held yourself back for all of 2 hours.

You know, your reading comprehension skills are really poor. I wonder if you're like the person who sees red when the rest of the world sees green.

You held yourself back for all of 2 hours.

That situation must be painful to you as a Republican.
If it's not, you haven't got a heart.

Why is it that he chose this particular congresswoman to assassinate? I suggest that the real answer will be a bit of a mix, but the major component had to have been the amplitude and the tone of the attacks against her by the right wing activists in the area and on the local media.

I am absolutely not trying to downplay the role that violence-inciting rhetoric may have played, but my gut feeling, having some understanding of and experience with schizophrenics, is that this event was simply easy for him to get to.

The local sheriff might have a better feel for the atmosphere surrounding this than a long-distance personal diagnosis from a non-professional health care giver from Chicago.

It bothers me that people use this event as political ammo (feel free to choose a better word). Several million people listen to Beck, Hannity, Rush, etc., and none of them did anything like this (except one, _maybe_). If several million people took a particular medication, and one of them died, you wouldn't say the medication kills people. You might reasonably look at what is different about that particular person, and that would be more likely the cause. If Beck, et al. cause violence, you would expect a whole lot more of it considering the large numbers of people who tune in to it. This is not to say a person can't object to their sort of hostile political style, but to say it had much, if any, role in causing a murder such as this, makes little rational sense at all. There is quite a bit of evidence he was not a tea bagger type, but I don't think it matters either way. kj.

I gave you your own words. It is here for all to see. You were the first one to politicize the tragedy in overt way. My voting record won't save you from the embarrassment.

I think a physical therapist is generally considered a health-care "professional", if you are referring to Black, of course. kj.

Re: Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords Shot at Arizona Event - RgrF - 01-10-2011

A physical therapist passing diagnosis on a psychological issue is probably thought to be a non-professional assessment, unless it's done in Idaho.

Re: Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords Shot at Arizona Event - kj - 01-10-2011

In Idaho, a physical therapist can't do psych evals, but neither can a Sheriff (maybe in Cali ;-). At any rate, I'll go out on a limb and contend there isn't anyone who will ever know exactly why he did what he did. kj.
