De-funding CPB (Congress cannot de-fund NPR because they don't fund it in the first place) would be far more of a hardship on small local public radio stations than it would be on NPR. People who are too stupid and ignorant to understand the importance of local public radio aren't ever going to "get" how it all works.

Enjoy your Sirius XM radio. Until Pandora kills it, that is.

Anytime you bring up NPR funding, people pull out the usual red herring that you want NPR to go away. You can't be singing the praise of NPR and what wonderful programming they have and then say they can's support themselves. Last month I subscribed to Sirius. I pay 15 bucks a month and don't take shit from anyone. Congress can cut their funding all they want. In fact, if there was a case to be made for public funding, satellite radio makes much more sense. The diversity of programming is astounding. Why should Sirius beat the pavement everyday and NPR get a check in the mail by calling couple of congressmen?

Anytime people ask you questions you avoid answering, you crawfish all over the place and ultimately try to change the subject or ignore the responses given so far.

You can't keep living in the world as it was when Lyndon Johnson was alive. We now have hard drives and cellphones and shiny objects in space.

Public TV and radio costs each American about $1.70 a year. And that's for a product that is superior to almost anything out there at any cost.

I paid my $1.70 already. I'll pay another $1.70 or so by April 15. Pretty good deal. My Daddy taught me not to be a chump.
