Me too.

My niece goes to UofA - she loves it down there.

So sorry for the loss of this person and all the others (NPR says 7 dead.) Prayers to the families.

WTF does THAT mean? This isn't the first time someone has been shot and killed in this country. And no, I'm not reading between the lines, it's a line you wrote.

though it is likely that the current political climate and discourse contributed to this event, let's reserve final judgement until we have more information.

If it ends up beign the case, let's hope that both sides can take a look in the mirror..

eyewitness account supposedly from one of the guys that helped apprehend the shooter (not confirmed but sounds plausible)

Local news now saying she is alive and in surgery, based on a report they got from the hospital, but 4 others are confirmed dead. Total of 12 shot.

Sheriff's office said earlier she was dead...fog of war.

Oh I hope that is true.

She's one of the last sane voices in Arizona's dismal political scene.

If that account is accurate, then this is another disturbing aspect (quoted from the link):

Rayle helped hold the gunman down while waiting for the sheriff to arrive, about 15-to-20 minutes later. The EMS came about 30 minutes later. Rayle said he was "stunned" by how long it took medical help to arrive.

"WTF does THAT mean"?

Please re-read my comment before responding so predictably.

Did I point fingers?

No, not at either "side" as we team sports-minded Americans seem to habitually categorize everything.

Did I judge anyone?

No, I said "we" - not you, not me. Us.

And no, it's not "the first time someone has been shot and killed in this country."

That was my point; that's what's tragic. We accept this; we don't demand any change.

"Let's reserve final judgement until we have more information."

My point was hardly to assign specific responsibility.

If, on the other hand, we want to pretend that we've each done our part to offset this kind of anger and hatred - from either side - then, by all means, kill the messenger.

I did. And I read it several times before posting the first time. Your comment is about as clear as a glass full of muddy water.

So I ask again, WTF does that line mean?
