Re: Top Gear USA season is over. What's your assessment? - Mr645 - 01-11-2011 Without the comedic aspect of the British version, I lost interest after 2 or 3 episodes Re: Top Gear USA season is over. What's your assessment? - Mini 9 - 01-11-2011 Top Gear the name has been watered down Top Gear Australia Top Gear Russia Top Gear US Re: Top Gear USA season is over. What's your assessment? - motopsyco - 01-11-2011 The problem with this show (and its acute in this case) is that the producers simply copied the original sans the budget to replicate it correctly. What needed to be done was to have the show develop its own mythos (ie, The Stig is so way out of place as to be confusing. Where in the hell did he come from?). Sure the original is charming and entertaining, but for a US audience the show needs its own devices to entertain. Cheers! Re: Top Gear USA season is over. What's your assessment? - sodapop - 01-22-2011 I loved the show. Adam is funny, Tanner can drive, and Rutledge brings a southern charm to the show. They are a great mix. You can't dispute the fact that they look like they are having fun... and thats what makes the show worth watching |
