I liked the move Fearless Leader made when the Forum automatically showed the name of the site for a posted link.

I've posted some Amazon links that were very, very long, but the Forum handled them quite well.

So what's the deal?

I agree. I only used tinyurl yesterday when PeterB posted some links with my coke rewards that were banned on this forum for some reason

The Phorum software has problems with certain characters commonly found in URLs. Links containing those characters are truncated or end up with part of the URL being displayed as a link and the rest as plain text.

In many cases I've resorted to TinyURL to get a link to work here.
