I understand. I am just trying to point out how times have changed. The country practically gave Paul Tibbets a ticker tape parade. Nobody worried about his safety or his family.

Because there was no need to worry about his safety...

The diffence lies in the nature of the target. If Paul Tibbets had 'dropped the bomb' on the Mafia, he would have to worry.

May be they all had blanks except one.

Would YOU go into a gunfight loaded with blanks?

That was a good article. I particularly liked the 'nobody except the team is going to know who fired the shot'.

Now.. what I want to know is...

Who gets the reward ?

Actually, the article does say who shot obl.

OK, okay, I did it.

I shot the sheriff, but I did not shoot the deputy.

And they say it is a capital offence.

SEALs are experts at working so supremely as a team, not as individuals, that it doesn't surprise me at all that the person who took the shot doesn't need or want individual recognition. There's nothing about this operation that was about personal glory or accolades; they did this for their country and their countrymen. Can't it be enough to thank them all for their service?
