Aren't you the least bothered that there was zero debate about putting American boots on the ground there? They are going in with the express purpose of getting into an insurgency fight. And do you know how much resources it takes to support 100 armed troops on the ground half way around the world?

They're not in the field. They're in cities training and advising locals.

What is it, really, with the 'armed troops' language? Troops are armed. Disarmed troops are either non-deployed or prisoners of war.

Is that your entire problem with this post or are you trying to avoid a debate? Story says "combat troops". There must be noncombat troops too. Write to AP and tell them there are no such things as noncombat troops.
