His death on Thursday at age 69 - confirmed by Prime Minister Mahmoud Jibril - came as Libyan fighters defeated Gadhafi's last holdouts in his hometown of Sirte, the last major site of resistance in the country.

I'm not sorry he's dead and the people of Libya did what they had to do. I hope they can move forward to peace now.

I imagine that a number of other dictators across the world will be sleeping a little less easily tonight.
Let this be a lesson to them-- if you're not quick enough to get your hands on a nuclear bomb, and/or WMD that you're willing to use on your own people, you;re just a sitting duck.
