Re: Musicians you just don't get - freeradical - 12-14-2011 Pretty much all of the generic rock and rap influenced rock bands of the last 15 years or so. :oldfogey: Re: Musicians you just don't get - Black - 12-14-2011 jardster wrote: The only one I agree with so far. The rest read like "blast a musician you know very little about." Re: Musicians you just don't get - ztirffritz - 12-14-2011 Springsteen always sounds like he's singing with his teeth wired shut. Good music, not great, but good. I love Dylan's music, can't stand his voice. I actually prefer when anyone else performs his music. My personal contribution to this list is Paul Simon. I think that he writes fantastic lyrics, but his voices has about a 4 note range and he sings almost completely monotone. My wife loves him, but I just can't stand to listen to his music. Again, I love hearing others perform his music. Re: Musicians you just don't get - mrbigstuff - 12-14-2011 Justin *&%*&%^(*^ Bieber. I mean, REALLY. I can listen 24/7 to Justin Timberlake before I can listen to one Bieber "song." OK, that was a gimme. seriously, I've always hated Styx. make me nauseous (that's true). Re: Musicians you just don't get - rjmacs - 12-14-2011 Most prog rock. At this time of year, 'Celtic' Xmas music and Mannheim Steamroller. 98% of country music recorded since 1975. Nickelback? Oh, wait - you said musicians. Scratch Nickelback. Re: Musicians you just don't get - Greg - 12-14-2011 I like Nicki Minaj's videos. I have always regretted not buying the "Bone in the USA" tour shirt when I saw them with the peppers in the 80s. I agree with most here that Bob Dylan is a great songwriter and a bad singer, but he doesn't belong on this list. Those that don't get Dylan may need to commit to a 3 month period in which they only listen to Dylan and then they can weigh in. Re: Musicians you just don't get - decay - 12-14-2011 i still have my Fishbone F*CK RACISM t-shirt in bright red. it's been reprinted, but mine's original. don't get to wear it out enough... |
