I like it because it's more focused than say Fox or WSJ and less insane than Drudge or Breitbart. A good place to visit if you want to know what conservatives are thinking.

Agreed - if I want to know what my Texan Republican Baptist in-laws will be talking about when we visit them, I look at Red State.
And like you, Grace, after years of editing the work of people who "know how to write," I have no problem interpreting the mongrel form of English the RS writers employ (he said after beginning a sentence with a conjunction).
