if I were him, I wouldn't tell anyone, not even wife. I would let her clip coupons and buy stuff on sale, I would let the kids struggle to get good grades to get into college and when we retire and kids are out of college, I would split the money 40% each kid and 20% left for us and travel around the world to see all the places I couldn't see before. Until then, keep it all secret, don't tell anyone. Now that's a problem I wish I had Smile

you mean, you wouldn't even be a little tempted to want to quit your job or do fun traveling now, while you're young and can fully enjoy it?

I would be tempted, for sure, but I would try to resist the urge as much as possible. Whether it is possible, I would never know... unless...

It won't be as much fun for him to tell his customers to go to hell as it would be to tell your boss to go to hell.

That's an interesting take, assuming:banghead: he wants to tell his customers to go to hell . . .

Can you imagine what would happen when you wait to retire before you tell your wife that you had million$ of dollars sitting in a bank somewhere? For starters, you would be nut-less because she will kick yours off. Why would you want to hide that from your family? I could see trying to keep it from everyone else, but not my wife. And that's not because of the nut thing I mentioned, I would want to tell.

If my family could all pursue art and music and charitable work without having to worry about money it would be a blessing indeed. I don't get this Puritannical "work is good for you" stuff AT ALL.

EDIT for typos. :eye:

Yes, that's what I wanted to say, thanks.

As would most people, regardless of what they say.

Bob: "I'm not telling anybody."

Monday morning at work:

Stan: "Mornin' Bob! What's n.."

Bob: "I WON SEVENTY MILLION DOLLARS! WOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

And the logic of announcing such a thing . . .?
(edit-- meaning the logic of the webmaster announcing the windfall)

Well I just read the story about this fellow in the newspaper. I never knew anyone who won the lottery, so my reaction was just one of interest. Haters gonna hate, I guess.

To date, my Web designer hasn't returned my calls or e-mails since last week. Hmmm.....
Huh? I think I made it beyond clear I was not questioning why you posted this.
