Re: Any else FIREd up? Amazon's new tablets look great! - vision63 - 09-07-2012 It doesn't matter what it means really. As long as it does what they need it to do. 3G allows me to stream music from Google Play and watch YouTube videos. I hot-spot my MBP to it all the time. 4G is faster but not noticeable unless the stream stalls. The most frustrating thing is if there is no data connection at all to speak of. Re: Any else FIREd up? Amazon's new tablets look great! - macphanatic - 09-07-2012 LTE to me sounds like "Lite." Which probably is appropriate based upon how much carriers are looking to limit or throttle data plans. Re: Any else FIREd up? Amazon's new tablets look great! - Speedy - 09-07-2012 Apple doesn't care because it knows people will buy it's crap. I know I do. Re: Any else FIREd up? The specs looks nice, and, if these devices are any good, their pricing is quite the warning shot FIREd across Apple's bow. I'd consider buying one of these before an iPod touch, for sure. Re: Any else FIREd up? The actual iPad model is called iPad WiFi + Cellular. That's any better than Kindle Fire HD LTE? Re: Any else FIREd up? Re: Any else FIREd up? Amazon's new tablets look great! - silvarios - 09-07-2012 Very excited about the new Kindles. Alas, the Target open box iPad deal was too hard to pass up. So no Kindles for me, not in the near future. Still have my E Ink Nook Simple Touch and Nook Tablet as well. I'm all tableted/eReadered out for the moment. An inexpensive LTE plan is appealing, but I already have a mobile data plan that isn't tied to a single device. While I won't be making the Kindle leap just yet, I love the competitiveness of the offerings. |
