I make bootable images via the command line because the commands are simple to remember or cut and paste from saved document, no need to hunt for the right options/app via the GUI. Also worth noting, there is nothing stopping someone from selling open source or free libre software for profit. Common misconception that source being free necessarily equates to free of cost. Heck there's nothing stopping people from selling closed software on Linux, see Steam.
