Re: OT: Good basic table saw for home projects? - davester - 08-18-2013 If you do end up going with a track saw, this looks like a really good inexpensive alternative to the Festool: http://www.thewoodwhisperer.com/videos/grizzly-track-saw-review/ . Getting a good saw guide for a regular circular saw can be handy, but it will have nowhere near the precision of a real dedicated track saw with a plunge cutting mechanism. Edit: There are a number of good ripping tools for circular saws...everything from a cheap rip guide that probably comes from your saw maker to Kreg's nicer ripping guide, to the $99 UEG from Eurekazone http://www.eurekazone.com/product_p/ueg.htm. Re: OT: Good basic table saw for home projects? - Grateful11 - 08-19-2013 How about this one for $250, reviews look good. http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00921807000P Re: OT: Good basic table saw for home projects? - Surfrider - 08-19-2013 I bought a portable, folding table saw at Home Depot, with a carbide blade (extra) it was around $300. Has been a great piece and it folds up and has wheels, good for a bad back guy like me! |
