If it happens again and persists call your ISP and request they reset your cable modem. This worked for me.

On my Mac I had an app update via iTunes stall in processing after download. Ultimately canceled the update in mid processing. Subsequent attempts to connect to iTunes or any other Apple site failed. Called Apple, talked to a supervisor and they suggested, & I paraphrase, my ISP may be "blocking" the Apple sites from me. Suggested requesting a cable modem reset by my ISP. It worked.

This has been the case for me on a few occasions.

A corrupted cache file, I guess.
