Now, just to find the time to get those shows off…. ![]() Diana Re: TiVo Mini service fee?!?! - Robert M - 08-10-2014 Silvarios, Thank you for mentioning Simple.tv. It actually might solve a problem I have at my office which gets crappy TV signal. A Simple.tv box with premier service would allow us to actually watch TV in our break room, something that isn't feasible at the moment. But, in looking at the hardware, I found it interesting they don't show much of the interface of the system. If I was a potential buyer, I want to see a demo of the interface and how to navigate and use it. That and I'd like to get an idea of how much space a given recording takes up on a drive and a better idea of the actual video quality. Unfortunately, the video shows people watching TV and the barest glance of the interface. Robert Re: TiVo Mini service fee?!?! - Speedy - 08-10-2014 Diana, good info, thanks! Re: TiVo Mini service fee?!?! - Forrest - 08-10-2014 Diana has some good advice - connecting the Tivo to a UPS is a good idea as it takes a Tivo 5+ minutes to startup. The TV schedule updates everyday on my Tivo HD and Premiere - I think this is typical. When you select a show to record thru Season Pass, you're are allowed to automatically add time to a show. I make it a habit to add 1 hour to all shows recorded on Sunday and Monday nights, to allow for football games to run long. Re: TiVo Mini service fee?!?! - Gilbert - 08-11-2014 I had been using Windows Media Center for a couple of years after having used Tivo and ReplayTV for a long time. I moved back to Tivo about a year ago after the Roamio came out. You can use the code PLSR to save $100 on the lifetime subscription. I was able to find the Stream on discount at BB for $65 but I think that was a fluke. As others have mentioned, you can get the Mini for $174 with a reseller code. |
