Re: SD Memory Cards - ka jowct - 08-22-2006 A friend of mine has a PNY 1GB card in his Canon 620, and has shot continuous frames with it. He says it works fine, but he's planning to experiment with a faster card. Re: SD Memory Cards - Otto Boners - 08-22-2006 The electronics in a Canon 620 can't save data anywhere near as fast as even a slow card can handle. The only difference getting a faster card will make is in slightly faster writing and reading files to a computer, if he uses a USB 2 or Firewire card reader. He can save his money. Re: SD Memory Cards - pRON aHOLIC - 08-22-2006 [quote ka jowct]A friend of mine has a PNY 1GB card in his Canon 620, and has shot continuous frames with it. He says it works fine, but he's planning to experiment with a faster card. Tell him to save his money. That camera doesn't even come close to what high speed cards would take take advantage of. Even a 32x would be overkill. Your friend will only get faster transfer speeds with a fast reader. Re: SD Memory Cards - decocritter - 08-23-2006 Thanks for the good info. The pny 2 gig card I used today was fine. I think we paid about 39.00 or so with rebates - maybe less. We used the camera without really reading the manual, so we need to back up a bit. It did seem to do just fine. |
