Print up an impressive certificate, and get her an 8 gig nano in October/November.

I can't see why they wouldn't have a 6 and an 8 in time for the Xmas season, unless they have something completely different.

Nano or for low side Micro. What is the purpose of having those tiny videos? CD's go to audio. Somebody explain to me walking or driving around staring at a tiny screen.

I think the nano's look amazing, so unless she really needs all that space, I would get her that. Better gift for the wife of tech-geek. How many CDs does she have and does she have a mac or would she use yours? Obviously you would need to rip them. For working out, a handful of good smart playlists should be good enough for years. Get her the 4 gig if you are worried about space. My partner is happy with a 512 shuffle, and about 100 songs that periodically change (so 4 gigs is around 800 songs at least).

I just pulled up my itunes library. 22 CDs is 1.6 gigs, and that is at 192 AAC.

completely arbitrary data though.

So a 4 gig nano is 50 CDs?

Me, I would hold out until the refresh in several months. My wife would understand.
