Prior to that, the company sold some of its stores, equipment and privilege to use the Earl Scheib name to the managers and owners of many of the locations. I used a parts washer dipped in a bucket of thinned out Rustoleum and did a nice paint job on a friends car. At the time, the gallon of paint was worth more than the car.
