Re: Did you ever leave a job without having another waiting? - NewtonMP2100 - 09-01-2006 . . .not yet. ..though I have wanted to @ times. .. all depends how miserable you are now. . .and your current circumstances. Some important things to be concerned with are: 1. Do you have a place to live? If you don't have to worry about paying rent/mortgage. ..that is a good advantage (so you are living with your parents. ..who cares. .. ![]() 2. Health insurance. ..if you need insurance don't. ..even though you can get COBRA and it is cheaper then buying it directly it is still pretty expensive. . . If you must leave. . . @ the very least sign up with a good temp agency, so that you will have income coming in while (as) you look for something better . . . good luck! I can coast for a good long while, but it will mean an upgrade or three that my building may not see during my tenure. Freescotland tuned in best on my situation . . . some sort of temp/agency work should not be hard to find at all, although I've gotten used to a 10-block commute. I have no idea what it would take though to get me to make the decision. I wouldn't do it in a fit of rage, or on a horrible day. Re: Did you ever leave a job without having another waiting? - JoeBob - 09-02-2006 I haven't quit without a job already lined up, but that probably is related to having two kids to support. It helps being in the healthcare field, I could find four jobs tomorrow if I felt like it. I get recruiters calling every two weeks or so.
