Re: iOS 8.4 on iPhone 4s - Short Progress Report - Jerry® - 07-08-2015 I'm running OS 9 on my iPhone. I love the launcher!! ![]() *snicker* Re: iOS 8.4 on iPhone 4s - Short Progress Report - Robert M - 07-08-2015 cbelt, I upgraded my 4S to OS 8.4. My description is same old same old. Some apps load a touch more slowly. Others are the same. Typically, the apps that are slow are ones that were updated shortly after installing the newer flavor of the OS. They ran well after the OS update and prior to the app update. So, I blame the issue on lazy app developers. I've yet to reset the phone. Ever. I turn it entirely off and back on again at least once every few days. Just good practice, in my opinion. At the least, it clears the cobwebs. I do the same with my Macs for the same reason. It can't hurt anything. Battery life is the same. It still generally sucks overall and that's because it's a handheld computer that can be used for phone calls and texting. Updating the OS didn't make a difference. FWIW, I recently had the battery in my 4S tested. The battery in my wife's 5 was going kablooey. So, when they tested the battery in her phone, I asked them to do the same for mine. The battery in her phone was hosed. The one in my phone just dandy. Go figure. Even if it is to a location on a reputable web site. Rarely is the operative word. My wife's phone wasn't eligible for the battery replacement program. We had to pay for the battery out of pocket. Robert Re: iOS 8.4 on iPhone 4s - Short Progress Report - Speedy - 07-09-2015 Robert, I should have listed the link as 'battery warranty replacement'. N-OS X-tasy!, yes, but ever since I upgraded my iPad3 from iOS 6.1.3 to 8.3, I have not been able to reliably select text in order to delete it.
