Re: Army veteran rescues bald eagle dangling upside down from a rope in 75-foot tree - wurm - 07-04-2016 Interesting wording. I can't imagine a .22 "mowing down the branches". Then again, I was almost afraid to read that it might have been a machine gun or other assault weapon. Good for him. And according to the article, that in itself was sort of a last resort, as he attempted to get "official" help from other agencies. Re: Army veteran rescues bald eagle dangling upside down from a rope in 75-foot tree - RAMd®d - 07-05-2016 I assume there was downrange collateral damage, based on lack of subsequent reports, but I wonder what was down range. A .22LR has about a 1.5 mile range (YRMV) at a 45º angle. So I'm curious as to where, given his circumstances, 150rnds landed. |
