fcp will price match AND lifetime warranty win-win

VDO appears to be the OEM, but there's no financial incentive to seek that option. The OE pump is actually the cheapest option for a known quantity*.

Genuine 1K0919050AB for less than 100 bucks, shipped free via FedEx Ground, albeit with a vendor warranty.

FCP used to make a big deal about their price matching, but didn't specify that it includes whatever arbitrary shipping cost they credited to the other vendor. I don't even see that claim any more on their site. Their free economy shipping option is USPS parcel, uninsured. Fine if you don't mind the possible wait, and don't mind the risk.

I used to like RMEuropean, which is a virtual "store" that drop ships from a wholesaler like SSF. But the changed to a new catalog that has a smaller selection, and their pricing, while still pretty good, can be beaten.

Really depends on what kind of part you're ordering, what kind of protection you desire, and how urgent the need is.

Personally, I've never had to warranty a part I've mail ordered, but if it's something with a higher probability of failure, vs. something like a trim piece, it's something to consider.

For something like a fuel pump, it may be worth the extra 20 bucks or whatever to mail order from a dealer who sells discount parts online, but I'm not sure of VW's parts warranty terms.

Bottom line--need and type of part is going to play a big role in the vendor selection.

* I know pros who will tell you to stay away from aftermarket stuff like Meyle. I assume Uro is in the same class, or worse.

FWIW, Meyle >> URO

Eeuro is beating FCP pretty good in most areas, esp shipping speed and cost. But they don't have as good of a selection.
