Easy solution - Never use cash!

Seriously, I use cash maybe 1-2 times a month these days..

I'm similar, and I also try to never have more than 99 cents in coins, I keep the coins in that tiny pocket in my jeans.

Most of the cash that I have is what I receive from the Costco Executive Member rebate, and the Costco Credit card rebate. I always get those back as cash rather than use them as payment. I use the card for payment instead to get the 2% cash back on that.

The other source of cash is when I take cans and bottles to the recycling center to get the CRV refunded.

I haven't withdrawn cash from a bank/ATM in about two years.

I recently helped a friend role thousands of coins for deposit.... So many Mercury dimes!

I'm pretty sure those mercury dimes were worth a lot more than 10 cents each based on their silver content.
My first thought, too. As long ago as the '70s, my dad always made a point of separating out any silver-based coinage (pre-1965, IIRC) from the coins he collected at his business. I inherited all of it upon his death in the '80s - it's packed away in a closet .
I still do that! Well, not that there are many Mercury dimes in circulation any longer, but I always look at the side of quarters to see if they were made prior to 1965. My grandfather taught me well...

You can hear the difference when you drop mixed coins on a hard surface. The silver ones "ring". I snagged quite a few counting down the registers at work when I was younger.
