Re: The Warriors are raising their prices... - polychrome - 02-08-2017 Prices will be even higher when the new arena in San Francisco opens. I'm glad the Warriors are moving back to SF since that's where they were before moving to Oakland and after moving from Philadelphia. Warriors have a very devoted fan base even during the many losing seasons, but along with success comes bandwagoners, many who spends more time on their phones than watching and cheering for the team. Same as at San Francisco Giants games these days since their transition to their new stadium and during their recent successful years. It is cool that both the Warriors new arena and the Giants stadium are on the waterfront and both privately funded. There is very little public transit to the Arena (3rd street light rail and busses), 200 parking spaces and it's hemmed in by UCSF Medical facilities on all 4 sides. It's a couple of long miles from the nearest BART station. It's going to be a nightmare. Currently it's a virtual breeze getting to Oracle Arena. Just take BART right to the Arena. The owners don't live in San Francisco. They live in Los Angeles. They have no idea. Right now the Warriors enjoy a loyal following even during the past 20 years when they sucked. When they suck again, nobody is going to go the trouble to get to this new Arena. Go Lakers! Re: The Warriors are raising their prices... - polychrome - 02-08-2017 Traffic will be a nightmare but getting to Chase Arena will be easier than going to a Giants game at AT&T Park because of a much smaller crowd. The Caltrain station is close to both facilities so fans on the peninsula will have a shorter distance to go now. SF locals as well. It would be great if BART went closer to the new arena but public transportation will improve with time. A muni stop at the arena will open in a year or two and there's supposed to be around 950 parking spaces once the arena opens. Still not like the parking at the Oakland Arena. You could also catch a ferry from the East Bay and Marin and there's a new ferry dock is planned. The devoted fans will still support the Warriors at the new arena when they suck, it's the bandwagons who will drop off, as it does with all teams. Speaking of the Lakers, I am glad that public transportation to the Staple Center has improved a lot and that needs to happen to/from Dodger Stadium. No, I do not think the fanbase will translate across the bay during the sucky times. Remember, they sucked for a long long long long long long time. Like 20 years. You'll see when they choke in the playoffs this year. Re: The Warriors are raising their prices... - NewtonMP2100 - 02-08-2017 .....make love.....not war...... Re: The Warriors are raising their prices... - polychrome - 02-08-2017 I know, your Lakers will win it all. ![]() Re: The Warriors are raising their prices... - vision63 - 02-08-2017 polychrome wrote: I like the Warriors. Living in Oakland, I've seen more of their games than any other team since 1998. I don't even blame them for Durant since they didn't work to get him. Once he became available, of course they tried to convince them to roll with them. Durant on the other hand, I don't like that. It doesn't come on TV all that much. I'm a Kings fan living outside of my territory. :-( Re: The Warriors are raising their prices... - Lux Interior - 02-08-2017 vision63 wrote: Sacramento sports has never been the same since...
