I used a small bead of that silicone adhesive around the perimeter and connected everything back up. So far, so good. No leaks. Let's see how long that lasts.

We keep a three gallon tub under our main sink drain because on occasion it will leak a bit when the trap gets bumped. The tub is filled with miscellaneous kitchen supplies so it is not just dead space.
