The house i bought years ago had the front door where the storm door ought to go. I moved the front door back and installed a storm door where the front door had been with little problem, but with a lot of work and planning nevertheless. I was happy with the results.
My skills with that sort of thing are minimal. you should do just fine.

I know, I was just teasing. Your knowledge here on home stuff is pretty extensive, AND you know your limits. That's key.
