I'd rather have the extra juice as they will be in emergency flashlights and lanterns. I will charge them yearly to top them off. Anither reason over alkalines is that rechargeables almost never leak and ruin stuff. In an emertgency backup light, you DON'T want a failure like that. Re: Need Eneloops? 4 pack AA $8.47 @ Amazon - Buzz - 02-02-2020 Another reason over alkalines is that rechargeables almost never leak and ruin stuff. In an emergency backup light, you DON'T want a failure like that. I bought three, what I thought were well made aluminum 2AA LED flashlights, that were/are great for traveling. 2 of the 3 have been cannibalized by leaking alkalines. The lone remaining soldier has been on Eneloops, and I hope will last for the duration. I haven't seen similarly well made, well priced flashlights in quite awhile. They were like 3 for $25 in the early days of LED, super heavy duty, waterproof, etc.. Frustrating as heck when good stuff fails, especially from leaky batteries. == Re: Need Eneloops? 4 pack AA $8.47 @ Amazon - Racer X - 02-02-2020 Duracell are the current leakiest alkalines FWIW. Re: Need Eneloops? 4 pack AA $8.47 @ Amazon - sekker - 02-02-2020 I have a clock that my alkaline battery tried to eat. Now have four AA eneloop batteries I rotate through. |
