Re: MRF for health questions. Leg Sciatic, Knees, etc - Racer X - 02-03-2020 Another possibility is spinal stenosis, where calcium/arthritic deposits build up and you now have a pinch point. For those that might remember, back in 2008 things were ugly for me. I had a slipped disk exactly where I have a naturally occuring narrowing in my spinal canal, and on top of that, there is arthritic deposits there and elsewhere. They saw the stenosis and arthritis on the imaging, but missed the disc had moved maybe a mm. Later on, someone else saw the MRI and caught the disk issue. This all lasted months. After upping my opiod doses and 2 steroid injections, and oral steroids, we got it under control. I still have periods of sciatic pain, and a permanent numb spot deep in my left buttock where that specific nerve branch was permanently damaged. Oddly enough, the nerves severed during my hip replacement in Dec '13 have mostly rerouted, and I have decent sensation in the front of my left thigh. Wierd, but it happens sometimes. |
