Ditto, that's why I don't use FedEx Ground for delicate items either (they were not originally a part of FedEx, I think they were formerlly Roadway or RPS). They've beat up packages often enough (though not a whole lot) that I don't care to take the risk.

Happened to me as well when I listed some solid ink packs at $1 starting bid and was noting shipping as $10 (which was the USPS flat rate box @ $8.10 plus the delivery confirmation @ $1.90, actual total of $10). Repeated emails yielded canned responses. I waited a week and relisted it at $20 (instead of the $1 starting bid) with $20 shipping via UPS only and it listed and sold fine. Go figure.

I think eBay and PayPal are cutting their throats enough to maybe marginalize themselves in the next 5 years.

And yet I still see plenty of auctions with incredibly low prices and exorbitant shipping. Why aren't they all pulled if it is an automatic reaction? I will never understand eBay.

I would guess someone is reporting you. Probably someone who is also selling PS3s. Pretty sneaky actually. Can you use the automatic postage calculator and then add enough handling fee to bring the total to $45? That way it isn't listed explicitly in your auction.

Hmm..it SOUNDS like it may be some formula between the ratio of starting price to shipping.. or some such.
I wonder if listing it at $20 with $45 shipping would trip the same trigger?

I had thought of that. But the auctions were pulled literaly within minutes (maybe five) after their scheduled start times. They hadn't even started showing up in the PS3 search results. So how could someone have seen it? Not saying that it isn't possible that someone may be reporting me, but I guess I'm just thinking it's not likely. Who knows...

Another tactic is to start the bid at the shipping amount you want, and then say free shipping. In a sidestep way, it's still like you're starting the bidding at nothing (or next to it). It's convoluted, but seems to help my sales.

Usually when I list my sales, and I go to the link immediately thereafter, I already have 3 to 6 views. I have no idea whether they're real or a glitch in the system, but I have them.

If you schedule your listing to start at a specific time then they are pre-indexed and held in the system until your specified start time. By using the "scheduling" feature your item becomes available for searching immediatly upon the start fo the auction!
