Re: Do You Litter? - Todd's keyboard - 09-08-2020 I would regularly use roadside litter, picking up after dogs, wearing seatbelts, and limited smoking areas as successful examples of societal change. A counter-example seems to be drinking and driving. In spite of lots of anti-drinking-and-driving campaigns, there still seems to be a high incidence. (Actually, this is just my impression. I don't have any statistics to back up any of these.) Sorry to hear that some highways are being filled with litter again. Todd's flexible keyboard Re: Do You Litter? - testcase - 09-08-2020 FAR too many slobs out and about. :cursin: I've carried trash for three states in my RV until I could find a dumpster or large trash can. Re: Do You Litter? - August West - 09-08-2020 Chill, folks. Too much anger. Re: Do You Litter? - modelamac - 09-08-2020 Dennis S wrote: There were sheet heads in the 50's and 60's too. Re: Do You Litter? - vision63 - 09-08-2020 I pack up other people's litter. I do get tired of doing that. Re: Do You Litter? - GGD - 09-08-2020 I don't toss anything out of the car, but growing up my parents told me there were exceptions. They didn't consider banana peels and apple cores to be "litter" and would toss them when finished eating while we were driving. Re: Do You Litter? - NewtonMP2100 - 09-08-2020 ....the only thing that people should toss......is the salad....... Re: Do You Litter? - mattkime - 09-08-2020 I was once out for a run when someone threw his fast food garbage out his car window. I threw it back in. Re: Do You Litter? - Sarcany - 09-09-2020 One of the nice things about the lockdown: All of the litter disappeared from the sides of the road and the sidewalks. I assume that it eventually got blown into the sewers/waters. But it wasn't refreshed for awhile. First thing I noticed when people started driving again: masks and fast food containers chucked out of car windows. Not just the detritus on the side of the road, but actually saw people chucking food containers. And cigarettes. And then everything else. Plastic bottles. Clothes and furniture. It's a mess again. Re: Do You Litter? - wurm - 09-09-2020 I usually find OPL* at the end of my driveway. Okay, Rick-O, I'll hold them down while you punch them in the nose. Okay, since it was mentioned, I have also occasionally tossed out an apple core. I consider it feeding the wildlife. * other peoples' litter |
