The (elderly) father became quite ill and was taken to hospital, where he sadly died. india DOES have a rural healthcare access problem. But their bureaucracy is reasonably effective. At the outset they went into a hard lock-down - no trains, planes, buses or other public transport. This forced hundreds of thousands into trying to walk sometimes hundreds of miles from cities to their home villages. Many of them never survived the walk with those who did spreading the virus far and wide. |
