The weeks of trying to navigate the local, city, county, fire dept., health providers, pharmacies, and every other potential option tested our ability to withstand futility. We signed up for everything, and the state got back to us first. Their link to the county super sites was more streamlined than the county link for the same super sites. Maybe the state had a bigger block of appts available? Anyway, wham, bam, slam (the needle in), and it was over. 35 minutes from pulling up to the line to get into the facility, to pulling back out of the facility driving home; including the 15 mins wait time after the shot to check for any adverse affects. Of course, after we made our Mega Pod appts, the other entities we signed up with started texting and emailing with their availabilities, and when I checked (just for shiggles), there were only a couple of appts that showed up, and they disappeared online really quickly after I found 'em. Our neighbors scored out in the SFV at the LAFD last week. Gotta get the world vaxed ASAP! == Re: Vaccine appointments: This year's toilet paper. - RgrF - 02-02-2021 5 mile line of cars for our appointment today - wife can't be in a car that long, so we start over tomorrow. Re: Vaccine appointments: This year's toilet paper. - Speedy - 02-02-2021 Congrats to you lucky ones. Picked up our wristbands this afternoon - 2.5 hour process including one hour drive - for a 10am jab in the morning. This was only for folks who got the first dose a month ago at the same place. My wife is going to teach her 9a to 11a class online, her MBP and iPad tethered to her iPhone, as we get our second dose of Moderna. We are due on the 18th and I am anticipating we might have more of a not feeling great reaction after shot two than shot one. Nothing that made any difference from the get-go in any activity. We do walk three miles a day which means my arm is moving a fair amount at the shoulder which probably helps keep any soreness down. |
