She privately apologized to the House GOP tonight and they let her keep her position. That’s what the applause was about. If she doesn’t eat some crow publicly and apologize to Democrats it’ll all just be more theater. She was on some right winger podcast published today saying she’d never capitulate. Tomorrow should be interesting. Re: The Congressional fight over Greene, Cheney - rjmacs - 02-04-2021 deckeda wrote: She's gonna pivot any day now. Tomorrow should be interesting. They'll never get 2/3 of House members to vote to remove her. Her anti-Semitism is apparently far more palatable than "it's all about the Benjamins." Jewish folks take notice - know who your friends are. Re: The Congressional fight over Greene, Cheney - pdq - 02-04-2021 rjmacs wrote: She's gonna pivot any day now. But they can at least marginalize her and pull her committee assignments. No they can't. They need a 2/3 vote of the full House to remove her from committees. The only other option is for the GOP caucus to do it, and they said last night that they won't. Re: The Congressional fight over Greene, Cheney - Sarcany - 02-04-2021 On the plus side, with a completely anonymous secret-ballot vote, House Republicans voted Wednesday to keep Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., in her leadership position 145-61. So, they'll publicly support a lunatic and only privately support what passes for a sane "conservative" these days. The republicans trying to have it both ways is gonna screw them and us. Re: The Congressional fight over Greene, Cheney - rjmacs - 02-05-2021 rjmacs wrote: She's gonna pivot any day now. They stripped her of her assignments on a largely party line vote. I’m sorry I didn’t do my due diligence. |
