Told the kid (couple of hours south of San Antonio) to be sure to fill all the bathtubs when he complained about the water pressure dropping...for water to flush the toilet...also under a "boil" order.

If it's yellow, let it mellow. If it's brown, flush it down.

I have the cold water trickling into my tub. My kitchen and bathroom sinks are trickling warm. Just gotta keep the water in the pipes moving!

I don't have any good answers, sorry. Another possible solution: buddy of mine says get heat tape - wrap it around exposed pipes, plug it in, he swears by it. Said he used it in a trailer home in MN years ago and it saved their bacon. Not sure if still sold or not.
I'm in KS, my power has largely stayed on with no pipe issues. My ma had to have a plumber come out yesterday to defrost her frozen pipes on n. side of her slab duplex with some electronic gadjet. $150 and no building damage. Cold is lifting now so hopefully smooth sailing ahead. Good luck to all of you in harm's way.

fill trash cans with water for flushing, and if you have a spa/pool that is a source of water too.
