Re: any good books on dealing with aging parents? - DeusxMac - 04-05-2021 Not only being aware of their current finances, but also their financial arrangements for any future incapacitation and upon their deaths: wills, trusts, POAs etc. There are many unscrupulous lawyers, estate planners, accountants, and financial advisers out there who make their money preying on seniors. I personally had to go after a double dealing lawyer who insinuated himself into the disposition of my father's estate. Re: any good books on dealing with aging parents? - NewtonMP2100 - 04-05-2021 .....it may be too late already but......if possible, early on, have you or your siblings added to all accounts as joint or get power of attorney while parents are still younger and in 100% condition......after they get older or are less 'competent' or mobile, it may be harder...... |
