I don't think testing positive and having the disease are 100% correlated, especially if you've been vaccinated. The PCR test detects the presence of certain proteins. That doesn't always mean you're actually infected at present.

As an example, when I had Covid, I was told I would probably test positive for months after recovering.

It's the antigen test that detects proteins. PCR detects RNA/DNA sequences. Each of these has different kinetics of persistence. This is why it's important to know which test they were using.
