I always turn down doctor recommendations for any drug that is advertised on television. There's generally fine alternatives...

They must be working or they wouldn't advertise... correct?

It's sad that doctors are letting patients tell them what to prescribe.

Death is a possible side effect for some of them. :S

And sometimes you can't even figure out what ailment the drug is for. They just show people being "active".

Having cut the cord back in 2015 or so, I haven't seen many in the last 7 or 8 years. A few short ones ("Ask your doctor about xyzacore" in under 5 seconds) via YouTube lead-ins; no idea what the medicine is. Don't care, either.

(Side-bar: One of the best moves I ever made was going commercial free. Still see some on YouTube, as said, but they're usually only one or two and often skippable after 5 seconds.)
