I don't think anyone cares about this demographic any longer.

there's some hyperbole in the above statement, but I think overall, that it is true. I worry about my kids at this point, given that they believe that most things happen online now. I'm fortunate in that they both still play sports, are interested in theater, helping people (little kids, elderly) and they are overall excellent humans. however, they are still within a world where reality is shifting so dramatically that what we have been conditioned to understand as "reality" now has a different meaning. and different outcomes.

Hobbies!

Same.

That made me lol. It is what it is, huh.

Unemployment is running at record low levels. So maybe it's greedy corporations and bosses and the 'gig economy' that are making things tough for the young men? Wouldn't it be nice if the wealth divide in this country was narrowing instead of soaring out of sight.

For the young men I know, that is certainly part of it, but mostly it is housing. My son was paying 75% of his income on rent. But I don't think money is even the largest part of the hopelessness. Idk.

It isn't. But a lot of money can be made by making us "think" it's the biggest problem. It's all about the money.

You're absolutely right. There are a lot of choices they can make to be in a better position if they stop listening to the wrong things/people.

I'm surprised no one brought up the red pill misogyny idiots.

Young men need to buck the machismo / don't show your feelings foolishness, be caring towards everyone instead of aloof...

[spoiler=You know what most nations in history that have had an excess of young men who didn't know what to do with themselves?]
WAR

There is that group of Andrew Tate types out there, but the guys I know are really nice people. Younger folk are actually overwhelmingly nice to me, so I feel like that's a plus they have generally. One practical thing is that video gaming gets in the way of a lot of opportunities to really connect. But there are other obstacles that are harder to figure out.
