I enjoy and use both.

Thanks for reminding folk of these options.

another option is if you have a powerbank with a PD port, you can charge from it, or charge in a vehcle if your car charger has a PD port.

I've done this with my M3 MBA a couple of times, mainly for proof of concept, thought it seem obvious it could be done.

I prefer MagSafe as I'm a sucker for LEDs and I like the external charge indication, and it keeps a USB-C port free.

There are a couple of passive docks in the box should I need a Type A port or card slot.

So for me using a USB-C port for power/charging is a backup.

In my experience, Apple hasn't done well with power cords over the years, so having a removable cord that can be replaced by a now ubiquitous USB-C cable is a huge plus.

I recently bought an open box M3 MBP and it comes with a braided USB-C to MagSafe cord. I am hoping that stands up better than the plastic sheathing on previous Apple power cables. At least it plugs into an USB-C port on the power adapter, so that will make it easier to replace than the original MagSafe power adapters for past Intel MBPs.

For me, it means that when I travel, I can carry just one cord to charge both my MBP and my iPhone-less stuff to carry.

Note that the MagSafe cord can charge more quickly than the USB.

USBC is the only way to charge our MBAs.

I still like magsafe.

As do I.
Me, too.

You can also get a MagSafe style adapter for USB C ports. Some are better than others, read reviews on Amazon.

I just buy 3rd party USB-C to MagSafe 3 cables since they're not really any more than the break-aways.
